Last week at the Themed Entertainment Association’s annual Thea Awards Gala, the One World Observatory took home the Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement (AOA, Attraction). The prestigious award is considered one of the attractions industry's greatest honors.Stimulant’s CEO Darren David was on hand at the gala to celebrate the win with The Hettema Group, who, in partnership with Legends and a wide cast of amazing collaborators, were selected to design and produce the observation deck experience at the World Trade Center in New York City, New York.We had the opportunity to produce an arresting Welcome Lobby experience that featured a 65′ wide by 16′ tall world map projection which welcomes visitors from wherever in the world they’ve traveled from. When a visitor’s ticket is scanned, our on-site system processes real-time visitor information on a 3D geographic data visualization, and computes statistics such as the total distance traveled by visitors to the observatory, the most common countries that visitors have journeyed from, and more. As visitors pass from the lobby into the rest of the tower, a welcome message appears to them in their native language.
Congratulations to Legends, The Hettema Group, Electrosonic and everyone involved in this project on this well-deserved recognition. We were thrilled to be a part of it and look forward to collaborating on more fantastic Smart Spaces in the future.
